It Started With One Woman Who Saw the Gap.

Women Of Project Management® was founded by Asya Watkins, a project manager, entrepreneur, and community builder who knew firsthand what it felt like to do the work without always being seen, supported, or sponsored.

After years in corporate spaces and later building her own path as a business owner, Asya created Women Of Project Management® to be more than a professional network. She built the space she wished existed earlier in her career. One rooted in clarity, confidence, and community.

This work is personal. It is intentional. And it is grounded in the belief that Black women deserve access, opportunity, and rooms where their leadership is both respected and amplified.

Our Story

Women Of Project Management® exists to support Black women in project management at every stage of their career. The organization was built to provide access to community, development, and opportunity in an industry where Black women are often underrepresented and underserved.

Through membership, programming, and an annual conference experience, Women Of Project Management® offers an ecosystem designed to help women build confidence, strengthen their skills, and move forward with clarity and connection.

Community first

Women Of Project Management® centers connection as a career strategy. Members gain access to a supportive community of women who understand the work, the pressure, and the ambition, and who believe in collective growth over competition.

Built for impact

Every experience inside Women Of Project Management®, from membership to the annual conference, is designed to move careers forward. The ecosystem provides practical development, ongoing support, and spaces where confidence is strengthened and leadership is amplified.
