Many of the ladies inside of the Women of Project Management membership can attest to how much Edi has helped them realize the value they bring to the workforce. Sometimes we just don’t see our greatness and aren’t able to put it on paper or verbalize it. That’s why career coaches are necessary.

Attending the Women of Project Management conference means getting the inside scoop on all things career planning with Edi Hayes. She’s more than willing to share her expertise as working with minorities throughout her Human Resource and Coaching career is one thing she is most proud of.

In my corporate life as an HR professional of 16 years - I’m most proud of advocating for minorities throughout the recruiting process from executive strategy to talent placement, while helping them navigate the workplace.

As a business owner - I’m most proud of creating a safe space for people of color to be their most authentic-self, while unpacking personal challenges that interconnect with their professional journey and career goals. Ultimately, building confidence, gaining fulfilling employment and increasing their income.

I can see how rewarding it must feel to serve your community in such an impactful way. Oftentimes we miss opportunities simply because we don’t know what it takes to move past the current situation. That’s why it’s so important to have solid representation in all facets of corporate america. Especially someone in human resources who understands the needs of the community and the business and can connect the dots where they align.

It’s also really dope that a part of Edi’s focus is to help job-seekers gain fulfilling employment - key word here is fulfilling. Let’s be honest, earning a decent living is top priority but doing work that you actually enjoy is unmatched. I think this is really important for everyone to understand on their search.

In the video below, Edi wants the job seeker to be clear on what her purpose is. Making sure that she emphasizes that purpose on her resume. This is a great step in ensuring a fulfilling career.

Fun fact:

My dream job (besides being a full-time entrepreneur) is to become a college professor.
