Meet Your Speaker - Asya Watkins

The Women of Project Management’s first annual conference is quickly approaching! I hope you have already purchased your tickets because you do not want to miss this event. This is your chance to celebrate all of your hard work and connect with like-minded women in project management.

There will be top-tier speakers in the building ready to inspire and keep it real on how to navigate through this profession. None of this would be possible without our first speaker, Asya Watkins, MBA, 6σGB, PMP® Founder of Women of Project Management®! Yes, ladies - Asya will be blessing the conference with her wisdom and expertise in this space.

I am a witness of the hard work she has put in to make the Women of Project Management® community successful by consistently providing valuable content and resources through the membership. The conference is just another huge value add to all the amazing things she gives back to this community.

Women of Project Management® Conference Speaker - Asya Watkins

During her journey, Asya sought out a community of professional women of color in project management and could not find it; so, like the true visionary she is, she created it! I can 100% relate to how she felt; and I’m extremely grateful that she followed her heart to build this platform. The Women of Project Management® community is a great representation of women of color around the world working to level up and transition in their project management careers.

It doesn’t matter where you are in your career journey, Asya has created this safe space for women to network and learn from each other.

With over 20 years of project management experience in various industries, Asya quit her corporate job to fully commit to her passion. It’s safe to say that she wouldn’t have it any other way as this community is one of her proudest career accomplishments.

I am most proud of building a community catered to black and brown women to support their career. Our community supports all women, but as a black woman, it was especially important to me to build a community I wish I had earlier on in my project management career.
— Asya Watkins

Asya is a storyteller who does an amazing job at taking her own experiences and uses those lessons to inspire women in her community and all over the world. Through keynote speaking and participating in stimulating conversations, she brings light and positivity to all that she touches.

It’s not all business though, Asya is a wife, mother and enjoys other activities outside of work.

One fun fact about me is that I love getting inverted and standing on my head every chance I get. I love yoga & meditation to keep me grounded and in yoga, the headstand yoga posture alleviates stress and depression. Yogi’s have been doing it for thousands of years.
— Asya Watkins

Attending the Women of Project Management conference is your seat at the table. You will have the opportunity to meet Asya and hear her speak on all things project management! Get your tickets today and get ready for a great time!
