Today, I’m announcing the expansion of the Women Of Project Management Membership! I’m calling it our Rebirth because this is much more than just a business expansion. I am speaking inside the Women Of Project Management Membership sharing why I started this community.
About Asya.
By day, I work as a Healthcare Implementation Project Manager, and by night, I build the Women Of Project Management community because it’s my labor of love.
5 years ago, when I started this business, it was none of the things that it is today. I’ve changed my product offerings, heck, I even changed my business name. I’ve had to pick up so many skills to run this business that it would fluster the average project manager —and that’s saying a lot!
But then…
But 2 years ago, I decided I was going to re-brand and create a business that I desperately wish I would have had for myself for nearly the last 20 years of working in this industry—a community of women & women of color to support one another on our career journeys. I’ve met Aerospace Project Managers, learned about Sustainable Fashion Project Management, & talked tech with IT Project Managers —all women, & many of whom look like me —a black woman.
20 Years Later
It took me 20 years to get here, to intentionally create space for women & women of color to support one another with the Women Of Project Management Community. I am learning, I am creating, & I am cultivating life long relationships.
We may be a different type of tribe, but we are a tribe of like-minded women who get the complexities of being the only woman or woman of color in the room.
Evolution Is Inevitable.
In the last 2 years, I have been able to evolve because of the space that has been created with this community. I am proud of this community. And I am proud of the growth of every single woman from around the world inside of this community.
Our Rebirth Is Our Evolution.
So on October 1st, when we expand the Women Of Project Management membership, it won’t be just another business launch for me —it will be our rebirth as a community. It will be the expansion of our mission to support women & women of color in every specialty of the project management industry —as well as amplify the voices of amazing women & women of color who are Leaders in this industry worldwide!
