Highlights from our May Monthly Membership Call
This past Saturday on our May membership call, we discussed all the new and exciting membership updates! We laughed and shared our accomplishments, challenges, and goals for the next few months. If you missed the call, don’t worry, I’m going to give you a recap of everything we have coming up.
The big announcement! Women of Project Management Conference in Atlanta, GA
Yes, you read that correctly! Women of Project Management is hosting their very first conference in Atlanta, GA November 11-12, 2022. We’ll start the weekend with a mixer on Friday night where members and non-members will have the ability to get to know each other and make meaningful connections. The conference will be held on Saturday, Nov. 12 at none other than the fabulous Hotel Midtown. Tickets will be available soon, so make sure you keep your eyes and ears open.
Space is limited and tickets will be available to members first. Since Women of Project Management is a professional organization, most companies will cover the cost to attend the conference. Tickets will sell out fast, so if you plan to get sponsorship from your employer, put in the request as soon as tickets go on sale.
Also, during the conference, we will have a host of speakers covering topics from project management career development, entrepreneurship, work-life balance, and more! Our goal is to curate an environment where our members can connect and thrive.
Membership updates
Starting in June, we will have Monthly Introduction Calls for new members! This will not be a one-on-one session, but it will be a great opportunity to get to know everyone and match faces to names.
Furthermore, we will begin the process of matching mentors to mentees for our next mentorship season. This time, we are offering Group mentorship. Group mentorship is a powerful way to develop mentorship connections in many formats: directly with your lead mentor and with your peers. When applying to the mentorship program, keep in mind that you have an amazing skill set others can benefit from. Apply to be a mentor today and experience how rewarding it is to contribute to a mentee’s career development.
Partnerships
Keep an eye out for career opportunities. Companies who we partner with reach out to us about new openings and give our members preference. We communicate with their executive teams to ensure we are providing our members with the best employment opportunities.
